AS A RESULT OF A RARE ON-FIELD INCIDENT, INDIA AWARDED FIVE PENALY RUNS



On the second ball from the 112th, Ravichandran Ashwin prevailed on Taijul Islam's delivery. The ball headed for the third man's fence and the latter gave Indian duo Ashwin and Kuldeep a chance to steal a pair. A throw from a Bangladeshi outfielder in the third man area hit the helmet.


The ongoing first Test match between India and Bangladesh at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram witnessed a rare occurrence where the visitors were rewarded with five penalties. The incident happened in Thursday's Indian opening innings when a shot from the Bangladeshi outfielder hit the helmet lying on the ground behind wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan. Under the laws of cricket, Bangladesh was awarded five runs, which were awarded to India. KL Rahul's top team had passed the 300-run mark by this stage with Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav in the box.
