ROHIT SHARMA OUT OF SECOND TEST AGAINST BANGLADESH DUE TO INJURY BY 11IC BLOG

Rohit Sharma, who missed the first test after injuring his thumb in the second ODI against Bangladesh, will not travel to Dhaka again, according to an ANI report.

India skipper Rohit Sharma has reportedly been left out of the second and final friendly of the two-game series against Bangladesh, which will be played in Dhaka from December 22. According to sources, Rohit missed the first test after suffering a thumb injury in the second ODI against Bangladesh and will not travel to Dhaka again. India captain Rohit Sharma missed the third and final ODI against Bangladesh with a finger injury suffered in the second match and failed to make the opener in Chattogram.

After a special consult in Mumbai, the medical team learned that this lingering injury sidelined him and even forced him out of the first test against Bangladesh. With Rohit not traveling to Dhaka, vice-captain KL Rahul will continue to lead the team in his absence in the second and final round of the series which took India 1-0.

Not only Rohit Sharma but there were many other cricketers who failed to make the Indian team like Jasprit Bumrah (back), Mohammad Shami (shoulder) and Ravindra Jadeja (knee). These star players failed to recover in time and were banned from both Tests.

In the first Test against the hosts, India upped their chances of appearing in next year's ICC World Test Championship final with a 188-run comprehensive win over a spirited Bangladeshi at Chattogram on Sunday.

Spinners Axar Patel (4/77) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/73) did most of the damage as they shared seven Bangladesh wickets between them in the second innings as India climbed to runners-up in the World Test rankings championship.
