Rohit Sharma suffered a thumbs up in the second ODI game against Bangladesh. It was sent to be scanned.

The Indian cricket team feared injury in the second ODI against Bangladesh at Mirpur on Wednesday after captain Rohit Sharma suffered a thumbs up while catching. The BCCI medical team examined him, and he was taken for scans. The injury happened in the second inning of the game after Bangladesh opted to strike. Mohammed Siraj's fourth top ball saw the ball go up when Anamul Haque attempted to play it past the slippery cord. Rohit, who stood on the second slide, tried to catch the ball and injured his thumb in the process. He was immediately removed from the field and replaced by Rajat Patidar.

"India captain Rohit Sharma suffered a thumbs up while setting up the 2nd ODI. The BCCI medical team examined him. He has now had himself scanned,” BCCI later said in a tweet.

Earlier, Bangladesh skipper Litton Das won the coin toss and singled to bat first against India in the second leg of their three-match ODI series here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on Wednesday. There have been some changes for India in the must-win draw. India had lost the first ODI of the three-match series by one wicket.

"We have two substitutions. Axar Patel is back and replaces Shahbaz Ahmed. Kuldeep Sen is not available for selection, so we have Umran Malik in his place. Going back to the drawing board and understanding how to play under these conditions, just the basic conversation about what to do with the bat and how to deal with certain bowlers. I had a good workout yesterday and hopefully we can go out and repeat those lessons," Rohit Sharma said at the coin toss.

BCCI then gave a detailed reason why Kuldeep was missed. “Kuldeep Sen complained of back stiffness after the first ODI on Sunday. The BCCI medical team examined him and advised him to rest. He was not available for selection for the 2nd ODI," BCCI said in a tweet.
